Roommate Changes and Adding Someone to an Existing Lease
If someone is moving out, moving in, or joining a lease that's already active, the application steps are different from a standard application.
Roommate swaps
If one roommate is moving out and a new roommate is moving in, ask your property manager for an 'Add to Existing Lease' link for your new roommate. Whether the rest of the household is re-screened depends on the property.
Adding someone to an active lease
If someone is joining a lease that's already active, they must apply through a specific "Add to Existing Lease" link, not a standard application link. This link connects the new applicant's screening to the existing household record on the property manager's dashboard. Please contact your property manager to obtain this link.
Every applicant who is 18 or older must complete their own application and pay the application fee, even if they won't be paying rent.
Applicants added this way will complete the income section during the application, but income may or may not be re-calculated or re-verified once the application is under review. This is determined by the property manager, and you can request clarification from them.
If you have questions about the application fee, contact the property manager. They may be able to provide a promo code or fee waiver.
