Linking Your Bank or Payroll Account

Linking Your Bank or Payroll Account
Linking your bank or payroll account is the recommended path to verify your income. This article explains how to fix common linking problems, change a linked account, and what to do if linking doesn't verify your income.
Is the bank connection secure?
Yes. Findigs never sees or stores your bank login or password. The connection is handled by a trusted banking partner using encrypted, read-only access, so only the information needed for your application can be viewed and no money can be moved. Your documents are only visible to the screening and underwriting team, not to other applicants.
I can't connect my bank
Log out of Findigs and close all Findigs tabs.
Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
Open an incognito or private window in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox.
Log back in at rent.findigs.com/login and try linking again.
If you're on a phone, try a computer if you can.
If you recently changed your bank password, use your updated password.
Check with your bank
Sometimes the problem is on your bank's side. If the error points to your bank login (for example, an incorrect password or a locked account), contact your bank's online banking support. Some banks also block third-party connections for security reasons. Your bank can confirm whether that's the case and help you enable access.
I'm stuck in a loop after authorizing my bank
If you log in to your bank and approve access, but the application keeps sending you back to the bank selection screen:
Close the page completely and reopen your application link.
Use Chrome in an incognito or private window.
If you're using Safari on an iPhone, switch to Chrome or try another device.
Make sure pop-ups and cross-site tracking aren't blocked in your browser settings. The bank authorization step needs them.
If the loop continues, choose Upload PDF documents to keep your application moving.
My employer or payroll provider isn't listed
Type the name again and select "Use [company name]" if it appears in the dropdown. If it still doesn't appear, scroll to the bottom of the income verification page, select Upload PDF documents, and upload your pay stubs, bank statements, or other accepted income documents.
I can't log in to my payroll portal
If your payroll portal needs a special login you can't use here (such as a PIV card), skip the payroll connection. Select Do this manually or Upload PDF documents and upload your income documents.
I linked the wrong bank account
If your application hasn't been submitted, you can switch accounts yourself:
Open your application and click Continue.
Go to the Income Verification section with the linked account.
Use the back arrow at the bottom of the page to return to the screen showing your linked account.
Click Select a different option, Select other option, or Having trouble? Try another option (the wording varies).
This unlinks the current account so you can connect the correct one or upload documents instead.
Can't find the button? Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, zoom your browser out slightly, or log out and back in. You can also refresh, clear your browser cache, or try an incognito window.
If your application has already been submitted, you can't change the bank connection. Upload bank statements or other documents in the underwriter chat instead: log in, click View Details on your application, then View Chat under Quick Actions.
My bank is linked, but my income wasn't verified
Linking a bank doesn't always verify income automatically. Common reasons:
No matching deposits. Only deposits that match the income source you entered are counted.
Deposits are too old. Income transactions typically need to be within the last 31 days.
The account isn't in your name. Deposits in someone else's account can't verify your income.
It's a business account. Business bank accounts generally aren't accepted for income verification. Only transfers from a business account to your personal account may be considered.
The account doesn't cover enough time. Some properties require income history over a longer period than the linked account shows.
The connection didn't fully finish. It may look linked but not have processed. Log out, clear your browser cache, and reconnect in an incognito Chrome window.
If linking doesn't verify your income, upload documents manually instead, such as personal bank statements, recent pay stubs, benefit letters (Social Security or VA), or an offer letter for a new job. Documents must be original PDFs downloaded directly from your bank or payroll portal. Screenshots, scans, and "print to PDF" versions aren't accepted. A transaction history export isn't the same as an official bank statement.
If your application is already submitted, message your underwriter in the underwriter chat. The underwriter is a real person and can tell you exactly what's needed. Here's a step-by-step guide: How to access chat on your dashboard.
Need additional help?
If none of these steps work, contact Findigs Support and include a screenshot or screen recording of the error.
From inside the application: the menu icon next to your initials in the top right, then Get support
From your dashboard: Chat with support
