Choosing Your Property, Unit, and Lease Term

If you can't open an application, the unit shows as unavailable, or you're stuck choosing a lease term, this article explains what's happening and who can help.

Unit and listing availability is controlled by the property manager

Whether a property or unit is open for applications is controlled solely by the property manager. Findigs Support can't open or unblock applications for a property on our end. Please contact the property management company directly to discuss your options.

I can't open the application after selecting a property

If you log in but see an error or can't get to the application form after selecting a property, the property may not currently be listed as available on Findigs.

  • Contact the property management company to confirm availability and ask how they'd like you to apply.

  • If the property manager confirms the listing should be active but you still can't apply, contact Findigs Support in your renter dashboard by clicking Chat with support or email support@findigs.com with the property manager's confirmation and we'll look into it.

I get an error when I open an application link

If you get an error opening an application link for a specific property, the property may not be listed as available. Browser troubleshooting won't fix this. Contact the property manager to confirm the property is still available and get the correct, up-to-date application link.

"This unit is no longer available" when submitting or paying

If you see a message that the unit is no longer available when you try to submit or pay the application fee, the unit isn't currently marked as available in Findigs. While a unit has this status, Findigs can't accept the fee or complete the submission.

  • If the unit should still be available, the property management team needs to update its status to Available in their property management system.

  • Once availability is updated, or you select the correct unit, you should be able to submit and pay.

If you or a co-applicant sees this message, contact the property manager to confirm whether the unit is still available, ask how to proceed with your application or co-applicant, and ask about their refund policy if needed.

Note: If you haven't received a payment confirmation email, your application fee hasn't been successfully submitted.

An application for a different property won't load

Go back to that property's listing page and start the application from there. If it still won't open, try these steps:

  • Log out of Findigs and close all Findigs tabs.

  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies.

  • Open an incognito or private browser window.

  • Try a different browser, such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.

  • Use a computer instead of a phone, if possible.

If the application still won't load, contact Findigs Support in your renter dashboard by clicking Chat with support or email support@findigs.com.

The wrong application or property is showing in my account

If the wrong application or property shows in your account (such as an old application), or the property or unit you expected isn't listed, contact your property manager. They can confirm unit availability and send you the correct application link. Findigs Support can check whether a specific unit or property is listed in the system, but only the property manager can generate and send the correct application invite.

If your application was started for the wrong unit and you keep getting redirected to it, contact Findigs Support in your renter dashboard by clicking Chat with support or email support@findigs.com. We can move your application to the correct unit. Once it's moved:

  • Log out of Findigs and log back in.

  • Confirm the correct unit is now showing on your application.

  • Ask any co-applicants to log out and back in too, so they see the correct unit.

The address search shows "No results"

The property may not be listed yet, or it may be entered under a slightly different address format. Contact Findigs Support in your renter dashboard by clicking Chat with support or email support@findigs.com with:

  • The full property address, including unit number, city, state, and ZIP

  • The name of the property manager or rental company

We can look up the property and send you a direct application link. If the link doesn't open automatically, copy and paste it into your browser's address bar.

Lease term and move-in date issues

My move-in date isn't selectable

The property manager likely hasn't opened that date in their system yet. Contact the property manager and ask them to make your preferred move-in date available.

"Lease quote has expired"

Select any active lease quote shown in your application and continue from there.

The "Ready to Apply" button is greyed out

On the Customize your lease term page, complete these steps in order:

  1. Select the lease start date from the available options.

  2. Choose the lease term (one of the month options or "Flexible").

  3. Click View Options to load the lease quote.

  4. Click the lease option that appears.

Ready to Apply stays greyed out until all four steps are done.
